Reasons Not To Buy Carpet Online

Question: I will be re-carpeting my entire house in the near future and am wondering if I could order  carpeting from you at discount prices over the internet?  Could you please send me the particulars about how I could do this? Thank you.

Answer: We would certainly like the opportunity to provide you with carpeting. However, you did not indicate where you live. If close enough, we would prefer to provide this to you on a turnkey basis. If not, we believe in your area, there should be enough dealers to provide you a turnkey job at a reasonable price.

If you plan on using your own installer, we would like to point out to you some DISADVANTAGES:
1. In order to honor an obvious visible mill defect, most mills require the carpet must be uncut. Do you have an areas large enough for the installer to roll out the carpet to inspect it?
2. Where are you going to find a qualified installer?
3. What are you going to do if the installer botches the job and does not finish his work?
4. How do you propose to return the carpet to the mill if it is defective?
5. What if it rains before your carpet is installed? How do you plan on protecting it?
6. How much of a savings do you anticipate on installation cost? Most installers charge as much as full service stores.
7. How much do you think you can save on the carpet? The savings will not be worth much if you run into a bunch of problems with the product or the installation.
8. How do you know what pad to use with the carpet you are buying?
9. Are you placing your trust in the advise from an installer that does not know anything about the manufacturer's carpet, it's warranties and what can void your warranty?
10. How will you get your job measured? What will you do if the estimate is wrong and you have to order more carpet only to find no additional carpet in the same dye lot is available.

We wish we could tell you honestly there were advantages to buying the carpet online and getting your own installer, but we frankly feel there are none if you are doing a whole house and your carpet supplier is at a distance.

Yes, we could sell you the carpet only, but we have lots of reasons not too. It has nothing to do with profit, but it does have everything to do with making sure your project is handled by professionals in a manner that leaves you with a sense of satisfaction and pride instead of a nightmare trying to save a couple of hundred dollars.

If you have considered all of the above issues and they do not represent a concern for you, and you need a large quantity, let us hear from you with information concerning the style, quanity needed and the best price you have gotten and we willl see what we can work out for you.
