An associate or acquaintance tells you about a great place to eat. We all respond to the favorable comments of others (word of mouth). The food is great and you are GLAD you responded to the recommendation.

Is there a difference with floor covering? Yes, sometimes there is and that's SAD. Some retailers, and we use that term loosely, now have programs that reward a member for bringing in a prospect and having them buy. These retailers mark the product up and then give a nice discount off the list price to create the perception they are saving the unsuspecting prospect a whole lot of money.

If you are referred to a buying club by a member, don't forget that member will also get a chunk of your change. The whole program is directed at creating the perception of big savings.

Does it make you MAD to know you've been HAD? Again, let's focus on what is important. Shopping with a reputable locally owned company will result in better choices and make your shopping experience a pleasant one.
